The challenge is to use red and yellow, plus another color from the photo. When making my project, I decided to use the aqua as my third color. Take a look and tell me what you think.
The patterned papers are from the Cosmo Cricket double stack "Material Girl" and Garden Variety". The aqua paper is from The Paper Studio. The mixer is a cut from the NIFTY FIFTIES cartridge. I just love this cut because it reminds me of my mom. She has one just like it, only white. I remember the first time I use it, I attached the beaters backward. Needless to say, when I tuned the mixer on, batter started flying everywhere. I couldn't do anything but laugh. Then I had a big mess to clean up.
Ok, now back to the card. I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the red and white paper. The aqua Ric-Rac is left over from a sewing project. And the little rhinestone flowers are some I won in a blog hop over at Mary's Cardz TV .
The stamp is from Scrappy Moms Stamps. And the little aqua rhinestones are from Recollections. I really love the look of this retro looking paper with the cuts on the NIFTY FIFTIES cartridge. They make a great pair.
And now for the inside of the card.
Now, head on over to Whimsical Wednesday's Challenge and play along. You will love it!
Oh my, this card is just so adorable. I love it's kitschy, vintage qualities. The colors look so well together. That mixer is just too cute along with the greeting then you open up the inside & see that precious little cupcake treat & that super sentiment. You did great!

Hi Charlotte!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great fun card! Your color choices work so well together! What fun paper as well. Great job with this weeks challenge :)
Fabulous card!! I love the colors and all the different patterns you used! your story was so cute and made me laugh. Last week one of my boys was baking with me and pulled out the beaters as we were mixing and got cake batter every where. He started laughing so hard I though he was going to fall off the counter. :)now I wish I would have had my camera on me as that would have made a great scrapbook LO. Tfs and have a great day. :)
ReplyDeleteEspecially like the mixer die cut & the story. Would like to know the cut size details of the mixer.
