Nighttime at My Sheri Crafts

Well, fall is here and that means the days are shorter and the night is longer.  So we are having a challenge this week at My Sheri Crafts all about the night.  There are so many wonderful things about night.  But this month, my mind goes to Halloween.  I love Halloween because all my birthday cakes were Halloween cakes.  You see, my birthday is the day before Halloween.  I also am a kindergarten teacher and we love making fall and Halloween projects in our classroom.  Today, I have a simple little Halloween card for you.

Who doesn't like a happy black cat withg green gemed eyes in the moonlight!!  This little cat is adorned with a cute ribbon on his tail.  His neck is just a wee bit too skinny for a collar or ribbon.  The moon has some silver flourish and is inked in black.  The gems at the top of the card help give this nighttime card more light.  And the sentiment stamp is a favorite from Oriental Trading.

Please join us this week at My Sheri Crafts for this nighttime challenge.

Its Apple Time

Hi!!  I'm just thrilled to be here with you today!!!  This week children throughout America are learning all about apples and celebrating the birthday of one of America's greatest legends, Johnny Appleseed.  Yes, September 26th is Johnny Appleseed!!!  As a kindergarten teacher of 30+ years, I have come to learn a lot of facts about apples and have cooked them in many ways.  And one of my favorite ways to eat apples is with carmel!

When I discovered this adorable image of Melin's, bear with a carmel apple, at My Paper Crafting I just had to make a card with it.  Isn't it as cute as can be!!

This is an A2 card with a Kraft base. I used a Spellbinders scalloped rectangle die to cut out the image.  It is inked with lime and bronze Colorbox stamps.  The papers are from K&Co.  I added a little brown a dn white polka dotted ribbon and some sparkly leaf stickers for a little glam.  The sentiment is from Joy's Life "Its All Fall Pun" stamp set.

Now, go celebrate Jonny Appleseed and eat an apple, preferaby with carmel!!  You can find this fun image and many more at Melin's Paper Crafting World, and there are many more wonderful projects at the PCW Blog HERE   Thank you for stopping by today. Come back and visit often.

Back To School at My Sheri Crafts

It is time for a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  And it is all about Back To School.  Now I must admit that this is my least favorite subjuct because I am a teacher of 35+ years and I am know ready to go back to school.  I want my summer to be a little longer.  But I have faced reality and have been working in my classroom for the past two days.

With that being said, I had a difficult time making a project for this challenge.  But now that it is complete, I really like what I did.

The fun papers I used are from We R Memory Keepers.  And The solid papers are from my scraps.  The little schoolhouse and desk are cuts from the Heritage cartridge.  They are inked in brown.  The sentimemt is from a Fiskars Memory stamp set.  I use a little green paper ribbon for some texture and then completed the card with two little red buttons.

Please join us this week with your Back To School project.  Just head on over to My Sheri Crafts and add your project there.  While you are there, check out all the cute projects from our design team.

What's the BUZZ?

What a fun challenge we have at My Sheri Crafts  The "Whats the BUZZ" is all about summer using black, white and yellow!!  Well, I must admit it took me a while to come up with an idea that I really liked.  But, when I finally had in mind what to do, I loved it!!

I began with the Sentimentals Cricut cartridge to cut the Beehive.  I used K&Co paper for it.  The bee and honeycomb shapes were cut from the Cricut Garden Soup cartridge.  I used K&Co and DCWV papers for these cuts.  Everything was inked with gold and bronze ink.  I added the pretty dotted ribbon and bow for some texture and then completed the fromt of the card with the Thank You stamp from Inkadinkadoo.

This is the inside of the card.  I used the Garden Soup cartridge again for the honeycomb shapes.  The U R were cut from George and Basic Shapes.  I inked the honeycomb with gold and bronze.  And then I went to the Just Because cartridge to cut the "Sweet as Honey" sentiment and honey jar.  All paper for the inside of the card came from DCWV and K&Co.  It too was inked with gold and bronze ink.

I hope you will join us at My Sheri Crafts for this fun challenge.  And while you are there please check out the beautiful projects from our design team.  They are wonderful!!!

Anything Goes at My Paper Crafting

It is time for the new challenge at My Paper Crafting.  And this week the challenge is Anything Goes!!    I made a birthday card for the challenge.  I have been wanting to use this Cricut cut for some time, but just have not had the time.  I have been looking at several of the cuts on the Wrap It Up cartridge.  And that is when I ran across this cut of this fabulous automobile.

I just love this auto.  I wanted to use red for sure.  And then when I added the metallic gold to it, I knew I had what I wanted, an old automobile with great style!!

The papers I used are all from my stash.  I did a little inking with bronze around the mats.  I decided to add the strip of glittery ribbon to create a more festive mood to the card.  The sentiment is from Just Rite Stamps.  And the scalloped circles are cut and embossed with two Spellbinder dies.  The three gems were added just for fun.

Please head over to My Paper Crafting to see what the design team members have created.  We hope you join our Anything Goes challenge and join in the fun.

Summer Citrus Colors and Birthday

This birthday card is inspired by the Tuesday Trigger, "Scene In Tangerine" at Moxie Fab World.  I began with papers from Recollection and My Minds Eye.  Then I used the Cricut Paper Pups cartridge to cut out my little canine friend.  This little guy looks like my friend's little dog.  The "Happy Birthday" is also cut from Paper Pups.  To pull the card together, I added the pretty little ribbon and a couple of sparkly gem flowers.  The little dog was inked in bronze.

Now take a look at this trigger picture and tell me, what y ou think of my interpretation.

Happy Birthday From My Sheri Crafts

Its time for a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  And the challenge is all about birthday cards.  I have been making a set of cards for a silent auction at this year's Picasso Pets.  This is a night of fund raising for Hand In Paw.  There is a silent auction and a live auction.  During the live auction, art that has been done by a professional local artist, with the help of some furry friends is sold.

This past Monday, my three little dogs help artist, Becky Bradley with her painting.  It was hilarious and so much fun.  I cannot wait to see the finished product.  It has my sweet Ruby, Jack and Magnolia's foot prints all over it.  And Ruby even helped paint with her tail.

Ruby and I are a registered Pet Partner Therapy Team with Hand In Paw.  We love the work we do and those we serve.

Well, as I said, I am making a couple of sets of cards for the silent auction.  One of the sets is going to be all ocassion cards with dogs on them.  Here are a couple of Birthday cards for the set.

I used paper from Recollections for the card.  The little dog is from the Cricut Paper Pups cartridge.  The little cupcake is from the Sweet Treats cartridge.  The icing on the cupcake is topped with glitter glue.  The three little flowers are from Target.  And I can't remember where I got the stamp for  the Birthday Wishes sentiment.

This card is made with papers from My Mind"s Eye.  The "Happy Birthday" sentiment and little dog are both from the Cricut cartridge Paper Pups.  The little border at the top of the card ws made with a MS border punch.  And I added a little texture and color with the cute little ribbon and bow.

I hope thse little furry friends with bring Happy Birthday wishes to someone.  Remember to go and see the wonderful birthday projects at My Sheri Crafts.  But, most of all we want you to join the challenge.

The apple tree and sentiment were cut from Country Life and the border was made with an EK Success border punch.

The apple, pie, rolling pin and sentiment are from Country Life.  The tablecloth was done with an EK Success border punch.

And here are a couple of cards using the pie cut from Country Life.

This card was done as a Thanksgiving card using the pie cut to make a pumpkin pie.The next card uses the same cut.

The buttons were added to the card to bring out the colors of the ribbon.

This last card is a birthday card I made for my mom.

The bunny is from the Gypsy Wandering cartridge.  And the carrots are from Country Life.

Father's Day 2013 card

Today is Father's Day and I celebrate my sweet daddy, Tommy Wilson.  My dad is 89 years old.  How lucky I am to still have hime here.  He is such a wonderful loving and giving man.  He never asks for anything and always puts others firsts.  My dad is a wonderful Christian and a WWII vet.  Happy Father's Day to the very best daddy ever!!

Here is the card I made for him this year.  I was inspired to make this card by a card Mary made at Cardz TV.

This is an A2 card.  The framed  yellow and black mats are cut from the Elegant Edges cartridges.  The yellow mat is emossed with a Cuttlebug folder.  The shirt and tie and cute from the Smply Charmed cartridge.  I used a gold ink pad for the edge inking on the tie.  So simple and yet so good looking for a man's card.

The tag base and topper were cut from the Cricut Sweet Tooth cartridge.  I inked around the edges with a bronze stamp pad.  The aqua decorative mat was cut from the Cricut Sentimentals cartridge and inked in bronze.  The bird and birdcage were both cut from the Cricut Serenade cartridge.  They were both inked with a gold ink pad.  I embellished the tag with a gem flourish and a sheer bronze ribbon and bow.  I think it just turned out so sweet.  I am committed to making more tags.

Summer Solstice at My Sheri Crafts

Don't you just love these long days of  daylight.  The challenge at My Sheri Crafts  is to create a project celebrating the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year.

How fun it is when visiting the beach to go to the local amusement park and ride all the rides.  I especially thought of the folks visiting the Jersey Shore.  I know how happy they must be to be back on the Boardwalk and enjoying the beach, food and all the rides.

I used the Cricut cartridge Summer Vacation for the rides.  The sentiments are from a K Andrew Design stamp set.  And I finished the card with a fun dotted ribbon.  Please join us for this fun summer challenge at My Sheri Crafts.

And now here is a little music for all those at the beach this weekend.

My Sheri Crafts Mother's Day

My Sheri Crafts is getting ready for Mother's Day.  We are sharing cards that show something about our mothers.  My mother's favorite color is green.  So I knew I had to use green as the main color of the card.

I have watched my mother write cards, notes and letters to people for years.  She has a writing desk for this.  So I decided to use the writing desk on the Cricut cartridge Sentimentals.  As long as I remember there has been this little lamp with a black shade sitting on the right side of the desk.  So, I used the little lamp on the Sentimentals.  After cutting it out, I inked it in bronze just to give it a vintage look.

My mother and I share a love for country french design, so that is what led me to the chair, also on the sentimentals cartridge.  The damask print on the chair actually reminds me of a chair my mother has.

When putting the card together, I added a little ecru lace to the card.  And the sentiment is from Just Rite Stampers.  I cut it out with a Spellbinders die.  After completing the card, I took a good look at it, and yes, it has my mother written all over it.

Join us at My Sheri Crafts for our Mother's Day challenge.  We want to see what makes you think of your mother.

CWC Cartridge Showcase: Give A Hoot

Today, I am participating in a showcase of the Give A Hoot cartridge over at My Paper Crafting.

My first card  is a sweet Easter card.  And I mean sweet because it is all about chocolate.  The eggs, flowers, and grass are all from the Easter 2010 cartridge.  And the adorable bunnie is cut from Give A Hoot.  The label, Capture, is from a set that I found in the $1.00 bin at JoAnns.  I added some green glitter glue to the grass and leaves and a sweet pink ribbon to the card to complete the project.

This next card I have is all about fantasy.  Isn't this little boat of critters from Give A Hoot just  full of all kinds of fun!  I added some little orange gems to the boat for and a sweet little heart sticker that says love.  The sentiment is from a K Andrew design stamp set.  And I just had to add the pretty sheer ribbon and bow to the card to complete the whimsy.

This next card has one of my very favorite owl cuts on it.  The card began with a sketch from  Mojo Monday.  I love the sketch and have used it often.  The owl and the leaves are from Give A Hoot.  And the sentiment, is from a stamp set I got from Oriental Trading.

And now here is aother card using the same owl cut.

This card begins with a doilie cut with a die from Cherry Lynn Designs.  The flourish of leaves is also from Cherry Lynn Designs.  this card has that same little adorable owl on it.  The olw is embossed with a leaves folder.  I added the little glittered flowers to give the branch a little pop!  The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs.  And the card is embellished with some little blue pearls and a pretty orange crinkle ribbon bow.

And now, here is one more card I wish to share with you.  I originally made this card for a previous cartridge showcase when I showcased the Autumn Celebrations cartridge.

The acorn shaped card is from Autumn Celebrations.  I added pretty ecru lace and a sheer ribbon to the front of the card.

This adorable little squirrel is a cut from Give A Hoot!  I just love it because of the beautiful cut design
on its tail.  I inked around the squirrel with bronze.

And I just had to share the sentiment with you.  I just don't think I could have found a better sentiment for this little squirrel and acorn card than this.  It is from a Joy's Life stamp set.

Thanks for dropping by today.  Please go and visit My Paper Crafting where you will see some other projects from the Give A Hoot cartridge.  Thanks for visiting today.  Have a great week!!
