An Evergreen Christmas

Today I am the featured DT member on She's A Sassy Lady.  Here is the card I am showing.

The card is made with paper from Recollections.  The tree is cut from the Christmas Cheer cartridge.  I decorated the tree with red Ric Rac and gold balls.  The sentiment is from an  Oriental Trading stamp set.  The sentiment mats were cut with Spellbinders dies.  I inked both mats  and glittered the larger one.  The pretty trim on the top of the card is from my sewing stash and I topped the card with a lime green bow.

The border is created with a EK Success punch.  The trees and star are from the Christmas Cheer cartridge.  And the sentiment, May Christmas be Evergreen in YOur Heart.  Is that not just the perfect sentiment for this card!!  It is from the BugBites Mistletoe stamp set.

Have a wonderful day and come back to visit real soon!

Ruby and I Are A Team

That's right!  Ruby and I are a registered Pet Partners therapy team.  We are now registered to make visits to nursing/retirement homes, hospitals, schools and many other agencies that serve people in our community.  Our local organization, Hand In Paw has a great mission.

Hand in Paw's mission is to improve the health and well-being of children and adults by serving those with physical, emotional, educational, or psychological needs through interactions with professionally-trained Animal-Assisted Therapy Teams.

Ruby has been getting a lot of practice with children when she comes to school with me.   She is very comfortable with the children and she has such a calming influence in our classroom.  When she gets tired, she just goes to the corner and gets in her little bed.

And then when she decides to be in the middle of everything, she goes to the rocking chair in the middle of the room to sit.

Ruby is a special little dog who is comfortable around people young and old and in many different environments.  Though she only weighs 3.5 lbs. she is a bundle of love and comfort for so many.  We will be making our first official visit Saturday afternoon to a retirement village.  We are excited to meet and greet with new friends human and canine.  We hope our visit will truly bring love and joy to some folks during this holiday season.

25 Days of Christmas Day 10

Today, the designers at My Paper Crafting are celebrating the special days in June.  Yes, it is December and we are celebrating the 25 Days of Christmas, but we celebrate it with the many special days through out the year.

Here is a Father's Day card with a retro look.  I cut the television from the Nifty Fifties cartridge.  I wasted to use these colors because they remind me of the colors of the 50's and 60's.  The letters for the sentiment are cut from the Base Camp cartridge.  The aqua strips were embossed with a folder, keeping the retro look in mind.

Remember to go and visit My Paper Crafting where you will find the Freebies and all the info about how you can be a winner!!  And Happy 10th Day of Christmas!!!

My Sheri Crafts # 100 Its A Wrap

It is time for another challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  Our theme is Its a Wrap!  It is time to do all that gift wrapping.    I have altered a gift bag.

I began with the Art Philosophy cartridge to cut the red and white mats.  I used a lime color ink pad to ink around the white mat.  The Noel banner was cut from the Jolly Holidays cartridge, and the trees from the Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake cartridge. I tied some Ric-Rac and twine to the little tags.  And then I used several different ribbons to give the bag a sassy look and added a red heart bow and a sheer green bow.

Make sure you go to My Sheri Crafts and see the beautiful projects our design team made.

25 Days of Christmas Day 6

Welcome to Day 6 of 25 Days of Christmas at http://www.mypapercrafting.com/.  The theme today is March- Easter / Passover.

This past weekend I got the new cartridge Folk Art Festival at Michaels.  And I am so glad to have this cartridge.  I just know I will be using it a lot!!  The card I made for today features the bunny on the cartridge.

All of the papers I used to make the card are from K & Company.  I used a little chalk to tint the flower insert on the bunny.  And I added foam tape to the bunny.  And for a little glam, I added a few gems to the corners of the card.  And then ended with a pretty satin blue bow and ribbon.

Isn't this just an adorable bunny cut!!

Please check out the great projects today from the design team.  And you will not want to forget the FREEBIES all at http://www.mypapercrafting.com/.  See you tomorrow with another day in our 25 Days of Christmas!

25 Dys of Christmas Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of the 25 Days of Christmas at http://www.mypapercrafting.com/.  The theme today is February, Hearts and Candy.

I made this card using the Martha Stewart Seasonal cartridge to cut the snowman.  I did a little inking around his face with ice blue.  His scarf is inked with a little bronze.  To glam him up, I added some gems to his hat and gem snowflakes around his head.

The sentiment is a cut from the Birthday Bash cartridge.  It too is inked with bronze.  The heart is also from the Birthday Bash cartridge.  I used all stash paper to create my card.  And I finished the card with a sweet sheer mauve ribbon and bow.

Please take some time to visit http://www.mypapercrafting.com/ to see the wonderful projects by our design team members.  You will also want to check out the Freebies too.

25 Days of Christmas Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of the 25 Days of Christmas at http://www.mypapercrafting.com/.  Today's theme is to use pinecones, poinsettias, and, or, presents in the project.

I chose to use the presents from the Birthday Bash cartridge for my card.  I had this really fun Martha Stewart paper with presents on it.  So that was my inspiration.
The circles were cut and embossed with Spellbinder dies.  The little tag was made with the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I added two little present buttons to the tag.  It just gives the card some personality.

Please go over to http://www.mypapercrafting.com/ and see the fabulous work of some of our designers.  Oh, and I forgot to mention that there are FREEBIES and a chance to be a WINNER!!!

25 Days of Christmas Day 2

Hello everyone and welcome to Day 2 of the 25 Days of Christmas at http://mypapercrafting.com.  The theme today is January Winter Sparkle.

I used a white card base with a Kraft mat.  I inked the mat's edges with brown.  The trees are cut from the Cricut cartridge Winter Woodlands.  I did a little inking with gold around the edges and topped the snow with iridescent glitter glue.  The pale blue snowflake paper is from my stash drawer.

I then could a piece of ecru lace to add to the card.  I just felt as if it needed some kind of texture.  I love lace on cards.  And the lilac paper is also from my stash.  I cut the reindeer from the Joys of The Season cartridge  and then gave it some iridescent glitter glue.  Just for an extra touch I added a little Recollections gem to its nose.

I just love the sentiment on the card.  It is from a stamp set of K Andrew Designs.  I stamped it was brown Momento ink.

I do hope you will visit My Paper Crafting  and see all of the wonderful Winter Sparkle projects.  And remember to drop by tomorrow for Day 3.

25 Days of Christmas Day 1

Today begins the
25 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS at http://www.mypapercrafting.com/.  There are some of the most talented designers participating and bringing such amazing projects to share  with you.  This is Day 1 and the theme is ornaments.

Here is my project for today.  I have made a card using the Cricut cartridge, Christmas Noel.

It is rare that I only use one cartridge for a project.  But for this one, I found all the ornaments and the fennel on the Christmas Noel. I just used a lot of glitter glue the ornaments up.  I love glass ornaments and have been collecting Christopher Radko ornaments for years.  So his ornaments were my inspiration for this card.  By no means do I think I have captured the beauty of his designs.  But I did have fun making the card.

All of the paper I used is from my stash.  I was so excited when I found the silver glittered paper in my stash drawer.  I think it is perfect for the card.  I added three little tiny trinkets to the card.  They are from Hobby Lobby.  I tend to buy a package of them every year to use here at home or school for crafts.  I completed the card with a pretty sheer red ribbon and bow.  I just thought that was all that was needed.

Please go over to http://www.mypapercrafting.com/ where you will see some beautiful projects with ornaments.  And best of all, each day there will be free give-a-ways.  You will not want to miss a single day.

Red and Green

This week the challenge for Crafting With Cutters at My Paper Crafting is to make a project with RED and GREEN.  I have been wanting to make a shaker card lately and thought this would be the perfect time.

I made the snow globe using my Gypsy and the George and Basic Shapes cartridge.  I decided to emboss the base of the snow globe to look like wood grain.  The Christmas tree was cut from the Christmas Cheer cartridge.  I added a little white ink to the tree and a few Recollections gems for the decoration.  The gifts were cut from the Christmas Noel cartridge.

After constructing the snow globe, I added some clear glass beads for the snow.  It really made a nice snow globe.  The sentiment is from the Mistletoe stamp set at BugBites.  I used some ribbon from my stash to add a little personality to the crd.

Come join us this week at My Paper Crafting for a fun challenge with RED and Green.

Tis the Season

Tis the Season is the theme for the new challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  Make a project that shows what you and your family celebrate this time of year.

I just went straight to the Joy's of the Season cartridge to create the card.  I decided to make a shape card out of the Santa hat.  To decorate the hat I added a blue snowflake with some holly leaves, a little yellow button and three little red gems.  I added aqua glitter glue to the snowflake.

To the top of Santa's hat I added three little holly leaves and red gems for the holly berries.

And the white trim on Santa's hat was embossed with the divine swirls folder and then topped with glitter glue.
I just love the the sentiment I added to the inside of the card.  It is from a new stamp set called Mistletoe from BugBites.  I think it is just perfect for a Santa hat card.

Come join us at My Sheri Crafts and show us what you celebrate this time of year.
Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you will return real soon.

Gobble Til You Wobble

It is time for this week's Crafting With Cutters challenge at My Paper Crafting.  The theme this week is Gobble Till You Wobble.  Use a turkey somewhere on the project.  I chose one of my favorite turkeys from one of my favorite cartridges, Thanksgiving.  As I planned to create the card, I wanted to use papers that were not the typical colors of Thanksgiving. So I went through my stash and found all the papers that were left over from old projects. In fact, most of the papers are from a couple of years ago! What do you think about this look?

The scalloped circle is cut and embossed with a Spellbinders die.  It is inked with brown and copper.  The turkey is embellished with Recollections gems a log with aqua and gold glitter glue.

The leaves are cut and embossed with Spellbinders dies.  They are also inked in a little gold.  The sentiment is cut from the Thanksgiving cartridge.

The papers used to crete the card are from Core'Dinations, K&Co., Recollections and The Paper Studio.  I finished the card with a sheer gold ribbon and pretty bow.

Come join us this week in our challenge.  Just link your project to the challenge at  My Paper Crafting.  And I thank you for stopping by and wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving.

This card is made with paper from Core'Dinations, and the wreath paper is from my stash.  The snowman is a cut from Gypsy Wanderings. The mittens and wreath are cut from the Jolly Holidays cartridge.  And the blue background and snow were embossed with Cuttlebug and Sizzix folders.

The inside sentiment is cut from Holiday Cakes.
