Marvelous Monograms

Hi, I'm so glad you stopped by for a visit.  You are here just in time for our challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  Our challenge is Marvelous Monograms.  Make a project including a monogram with lots of style.

I am making a box of note cards for a friend I work with who is in love with my sweet Ruby.  On the days that Ruby comes to school with me, my friend Nancy comes by my classroom and checks on her several times a day.  Most of the time she is hoping I suggest she take Ruby outside for a walk.  She is always hinting that Ruby should let her take Ruby home for a visit.  I do believe that Nancy loves Ruby as much as I do.  When her girls come home from college for a weekend or a break, they too have to see Ruby.  I just think it is funny, because Ruby is a dog.  I keep saying to her, "You need to get a dog".  But her husband is not ready yet to get one.  Their dog died 2 years ago.  I guess people handle grief differently.  Here is my Ruby at school in the teacher's work room.

Ruby even has her own school ID badge.

Well, as I sit and write this post, I am out of town at a conference, and they are keeping Ruby for the night. I thought a box of personalized note cards would be a good way to say thanks.  Each card will be in a different color scheme.

This is an A2 card with a white card stock base.  All other paper is from MY MIND'S EYE.  The labels are cut from SPELLBINDER'S LABEL #11.  The bottom label is inked with bronze and Tim Holtz Tea Dye.  The letter "S" is a cut from the CRICUT CAKE ELEGANT CAKE cartridge.  It is inked with a bronze ink pad.  And then given a little style with some lime and fuchsia gems.

I cut three strips of different colored paper with an EK SUCCESS border punch.  To complete the card I added a few more gems, a little orange and white twine and a pretty sheer fuchsia bow.  Isn't this just the happiest note card!  I know that Nancy will love these.

Please go and visit our DT at My Sheri Crafts.  And then enter the challenge with your Marvelous Monogram project.  Thanks for dropping bye, and come back soon.
