Hello! Welcome to DAY 1 of the Paper Crafting World and Cooking With Cricut Blog Hop. Our theme is Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, and Something Blue.
If you have arrived here from Debbie's blog, http://www.workinscrappinmomof4.blogspot.com, you are right on track. If you just happened by here are would like to start at the beginning, then go visit Melin at http://www.cookingwithcricut.com/. You will not want to miss any of the stops along the way.
For inspiration, the Design Team created projects with something old from their craft stash, something new, (a recent purchase or new technique), something borrowed, from a Cricut cut, or from a Papercrafting World cutting file, or digi stamp of course, and something blue.
Here is what I created using the theme
My something old would be the Cricut cuts of the handbag, (minus the flower), and the three ladies. The handbag and ladies are from the Cricut cartridge FOREVER YOUNG. If there was ever a cartridge with a great sense of style, this is it!
My something new is the C flower from the Cricut cartridge FLOWER SHOPPE. I added red, yellow, and blue glitter glue the the flower and a god gen to its center. I got the cartridge right before Christmas, but had not used it. It is such a fabulous cartridge and makes such beautiful flowers with great dimension. I got the cartridge right before Christmas, but had not used it.
My something borrowed is the sentiment from CoCo Chanel herself. Now, this is the ultimate person of style. And this is one of my favorite quotes of hers.
It seems to be a bit blurred in the photo. I took several more photos of it and got the same results. So, this is what the quote says.
"Fashion fades, but style remains the same"
CoCo Channel.
Isn't this just a delightful quote! And oh how true it is!!
My something blue is the background paper from coredinations.com. It was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. There is also a little blue glitter glue on the flower.
BLOG CANDY
I will be giving away all of this lace and trim. The photo does not show everything. It will be fun for you to use on your crafting projects.
