Halloween Cards For My Kindergarteners

Many of you know that I teach kindergarten and have for over 30 years.  That would probably explain my sanity or lack there-of.  I wanted to share a few cards I made for the children in my class.

These card were so easy to make.  They all have a black card base.  All of the papers are from a Recollection stack and a K & Co stack left over from last year.  I added a little black in and some recollections gems and tied a tulle bow on each of them.

Tomorrow is going to be a wild day at school, full of excitement and fun.  But I will miss it.  I will be at   the Teaching Education 1963 Symposium.  This is a symposium for educators about the Civil Rights Movement here in Birmingham 50 years ago.  It promises to be a wonderful event full of information and great speakers.  I was a small child in 1963 in elementary school.  It was a scary time in our city with the bombings of homes and churches.  I have some vivid memories and still question now as I did then why people can be so cruel.

I remember the Sunday that the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church was bombed and the three little girls
were killed.  We were eating lunch at my grandparents.  And I kept asking why anyone would kill little girls in church?  The answer I got was "We don't know".  I think my parents and grandparents were so stunned about what happened that they really could not answer me.  I still ask the same question today.
