Christmas In July

This week the challenge at Cooking With Cricut is CHRISTMAS IN JULY and use a piece of scrap paper.  Well, every piece of paper to create my project came from my scraps.  When I started thinking "Christmas in July", I decided that, that is exactly what I would create in my card.  So here it is.  A Big Spoof!!

The  lady lounging is a cut from the GOING PLACES cartridge. I used a little chalk to give her a glow from the sun's rays and some rosy cheeks.

I decided she needed an umbrella to protect her from all that hot sun, so I cut the beach umbrella from the LIFE'S A BEACH cartridge.  The Christmas trees, (carved from the sand, hee hee}, are cut from the CHRISTMAS CHEER cartridge.  I embossed the Christmas trees and the sand with a snowflake folder.  I also added gold glitter glue to the trees, and metallic gold stars on top.

The water is metallic teal paper embossed in the Divine Swirls folder and inked in a darker teal.  And the  sentiment JOY is cut from the STORYBOOK cartridge.

And here is the sentiment on the inside of the card. I created the sentiment using several stamps from K Andrew Designs.

  19. Now, this is a different Christmas card! I'm a traditional kind of person, loving to celebrate Christmas at home, in Norway, with the same food for dinner every year. But it's a perfect card for a person who seeks warmer climate for Christmas! The cunbathing woman looks fab, and he bold colors are jsut perfect for the theme of your card!
