Chilly Celebrations

Hello, and welcome!  This week's theme at My Paper Crafting is Chilly Celebrations.  So we are looking for projects that depict any kind of holiday or celebration during these winter months.

In the next few weeks I will be hosting a Bridal Shower along with some other friends for one of our very best friend's future daughter-in-law.  Here is the invitation that was sent out to guests.

The base is 6.5 x 5.  Iadded an embossed ivory mat that was inked around the edges with gold.  The teapot was cut from the Ashlyn's Alphabet cartridge.  The paper is K&Co.  It is also inked in gold.  I tied a little sheer ribbon to the teapot to dress it up.  The tea bag, inked in gold is attached to the tea pot with beige embroidery floss.  I typed the invited ont eh computer and then cut and embossed with a Spellbinder die.  It too is inked in gold.

I was just so pleased with the results of the invitation.  I just hope the bride loves it as much as I do.

Wintery Outdoor Fun

It is a Wonderful Wednesday and I am excited to share my project with you this week for the My Paper Crafting Crafting With Cutters Challenge.  Wintery Ourdoor Fun could not be a better theme for the challenge this week.

This card is 6.3 x 5 whie a white card base.  The background mat is paper from Oriental Trading.  It has a little inking around the edges.

The snowman is cut from the Gypsy Wanderings cartridge and blinged up with stickles.  The little birds and birdhouse were all cut from the Winter Woodland cartridge.  I think they bring just the right amount of color to the card.  The snow was embossed with a M-Bossibilities folder.

The sentiment is from the Robin's Creative Cottage stamp set called Snowman's Prayer.I emblssished the sentiment label with a few Recollection gems and a sparkley snowflake button.  And then I added a couple of more of the snowflake buttons to the card.

Come join the Design Team at My Paper Crafting for this fun challenge this week.  Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you visit again real soon.

Snow Time

We  had snow this week in Central Alabama, and it was beautiful.  It did not last long, but it was beautiful while we had it.  It started snowing Thursday mid-day and continued until late afternoon.  We were in school and did not dismiss early.  I live five minutes from the school where I teach.  It took me 1 hour and 20 minutes to get home.  It was crazy!  But, it was beautiful.

The challenge this week at My Sheri Crafts is all about snow.  Include a snowpal in the project.

Here is a 6.5 x 5 card made with My Mind's Eye paper.  All of the inking was done with a gold inkpad.  The cute snowman was cut from the Winter Frolic cartridge.  He is oneof my favorite  snowmen because jhe is so happy.  And the sweet little dog is cut from the Just Because cartridge.

The sentiment was done with a stamp from Snowman's Prayer stamp set from Robin's Creative Cottage.  This is a great stamp set for the winter season.

My Sheri Crafts has an amazing design team.  You will want to go there and see al the great projects.  And please join us for a fun challenge.  Thanks for dropping by today.  I hope you come back soon.

The scalloped heart is cut from the Sweethearts cartridge.  It was embossed with the cuttlebug devine swirls folder and then inked with gold.I added a little do-dad to the top of the heart that I found in my stash drawer.  The flowers are from Recollections.

The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs and one of my favorite stamps.  I added three little gems above the sentiment.  I added a little heirloom lace left over from a sewing project and a pretty sheer bow.

Bundle Up Baby

Hello and welcome!  Ity is time for another challenge at My Paper Crafting.  The challenge is to create a project that includes winter attire, mittens, boots, scarves, etc.

The card I made is 5.5 x 4 and made of Kraft paper.  I found a large set of these blank cards and envelopes at Hobby Lobby a coupleof months ago. And they were 50 % off.  I love them.  I use a snowy blue mat to top the baseof the card. The mat paper is from Oriental Trading.

The mittens were cut from the Simply Charmed cartridge.  The cuff of the mittens were embossed and then inked in gold.  They are inked with gold and  layered on kraft paper.  on kraft paper.  The bow at the top pf the mittens is made with paper ribbon.

I added burlap ecru ribbon to the card and topped it with the sentiment.  I got the ribbon at Hobby Lobby.  The sentiment is from the Snowman's Prayer stamp set by Robin's Creative Cottage.
And layered on a little plaid mat. This paper, as well as that for the mittens is from the Paper Studio stack The Linen Door.

I just love the colors on the card.  My intent was to use a cool color for the background and warm colors for the mittens.  I think I achieved my goal.  Please join us this week for another great challenge using a cartridge at My Paper Crafting.  I hope you have a great week!  And thanks for dropping by!

CWC Challenge #16

It is time for another Craft With Cutters challenge over at My Paper Crafting.  And this challenge is oh so special.  The is is our monthly participation in Madison's  I Feel The Love Project.

I Feel the Love Project - January 2013

In loving memory, the I feel the Love Project would like to pay tribute toVictoria Leigh Soto (Vicki), a first grade teacher at Sandy Hook Elementary. She lost her life on 12.14.12, but six or seven (still to be confirmed) students in her classroom survived that day because of her selfless actions. It is those students that we will be making cards for this month. They are not to be forgotten. They too have suffered a tremendous loss and have experienced a tragedy that will forever change their lives. We will be making Valentine's Day cards/cards with hearts on them for these wonderful kids. All projects should be colorful and uplifting. These children are all first grade students.

In addition, we will be collecting cards for Ms. Soto's family. These can be pretty blank cards, thinking of you cards, or any appropriate, uplifting cards that one would send to a family member after a loss. Please be sure to sign your cards. Ms. Soto's family members include her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Soto (Carlos and Donna); her sisters, Jillian and Carlee; and her brother, Carlos Matthew. Among Ms. Soto's favorite things are the color green and flamingos.

If you would like to be a part of this project...

All you need to do is:
Just make a card, link it the CWC challenge and then link it up over at I Feel The Love January 2013.  And last of all, but most important please mail your card by January 31st to

Madison Womack
IFTL Project
P.O. Box 1203
Atascadero, CA 93423

Here ae a couple of cards I have made to send to the children.  The first card is made with the Paper Pups cartridge.

All of the papers are from Recollections.  I used an M-Bossibilities folder to emboss the lime green paper.  And the scalloped circle was cut with a Spellbinder die and then embosses with a Cuttlebug folder.  The love hear and puppies were cut from the Cricut cartridge Paper Pups.

And now here is another card using Paper Pups and the Martha Stewart Seasonal Cakes cartridge.

The cute little paps were cut from Paper Pups.  And the hearts and Love sentiment were cut from the Martha Stewart Holiday cartridge.  The scalloped circles were cut with Spellbinders dies and the embossing was done with Cuttlebug folder.  I just love this color combination because it is so happy and bright.

I hope you will join us this week in our challenge and then send your cards to the I Feel The Love Project.

Cartridge Showcase: Wall Decor and More

Hi, and welcome to a showcase of the cartridge, Wall Decor and More.  This is the cartridge showcase of the week at My Paper Crafting.  Please make sure you visit there often.  There are many new things to see everyday.

Here is the first project I have to share with you.  This is fun card I made for a friend to say Thank You for all the wonderful goodies I received before Christmas.

The adorable papers are from The Paper Studio Stack, "I Love Baking".  The stack also comes with some wonderful stickers, such as the "Homemade" sentiment and the cute apron.  I used the Wall Decor and More cartridge to cut the teapot.

The teacups were also cut from the cartridge.  They are a border image cut.  Isn't it just an adorable border.

This next card I made for a friend's birthday and featured it on my blog last week.

I used Spellbinder dies to cut the scalloped circle mats for the card.

The beautiful telephone was cut from Wall Decor and More.  I just love this telephone cut.  All of the papers for this card was fro K & Co.  I finished the card with a little "Hello" sentiment and some pretty ribbon.

Next I have a card that could be for many different occasions.  It is just so fun and happy.

These cute giraffes are from Wall Decor and More, as well as the "Think Big" sentiment.  I cut two giraffes in two different sizes  and flipped one so they would be facing different directions.  The cute little animal print buttons are from Oriental Trading.  The grass was created with an EK Success border punch and the cute ribbon came from my stash.

This next card is probably one of my favorites.  I made it last week and featured it on an earlier blog post.

The books and lamp are a border cut from Wall Decor and More.  Is this not just an amazing border!!  The sentiment,"Dream" is stamped on on a double mat from Spellbinders and then inked in bronze and brown.  The card is embellished with five little gems, lock and key brads, and a pretty sheer brown ribbon.  The papers are from K & Co.

This next card is a simple Sympathy card.  The sentiment is from a rubber stamp that I have had for several years. It is one of my favorite.

The butterfly on the card is a Wall Decor and More cut and I think one of the prettiest butterflies ever.  I just love the detail.

And now, here is a card that would be great for any patriotic holiday.  The papers for the card are from Recollections.

The start and USA were cut from the Wall Decor and More. The red mat was embossed with a cuttlebug folder.  And again, on this card, I used a border cut from Wall Decor and More. This border is just great, and I can see so many ways it can be used in so many projects.  The gems on the card are from Recollections.

If you have not taken a look at the Wall Decor and More cartridge lately, I hope this will be some inspiration for you.  I just think there are so many possibilities using this cartridge.
I hope you will visit My Paper Crafting everyday.  There is always something new and exciting there, and some of the most amazing designers ever!!

All Sports

Hi everyone and welcome to the first challenge of the year at My Sheri Crafts.  The challenge is to give a big shout out to all of our athletes.  Well, when I saw that this challenge was going to begin the weekend before the BCS Championship game, there was only one thing that came to mind...BAMA FOOTBALL.  As many of you know I am a big Alabama fan, as is everyone in my family.  My sweet daddy, who loves Alabama football has been going through a lot lately regarding his health.  He is home now and looking forward to the ballgame Monday night.  So this is the card I made him.  I know it will make him feel better.

The base of the are the white mat are cut from the 50 States cartridge.  I did a little inking with red around the state.  The Alabama "A" was cut from the Stone Script cartridge.  And the football and hand came from the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge.  I inked them with a little back.

And here is the inside of the card.  The sentiment is cut from the Plantin SchoolBook cartridge.  I know that this card will lift my daddy's spirits.  I just hope it brings us a big win Monday night.  ROLL TIDE!!

Head on over to My Sheri Crafts and see the wonderful projects our design team members have made.  And please join us for a fun challenge for all sports.  And remember to always be a good sport!

New Year, New Dreams, New Books

Here we are in the year 2013.  With a new year usually comes new dreams, hopes, goals, and new books to read.  Here is a card with some of those thoughts in mind.

I used paper from My Mind's Eye for the card.  The lamp with books was cut from the Wall Decor and More cartridge.  I added a few little gems and a pretty sheer ribbon and bow to the card.  The sentiment is from a stamp set I found in the clearance bin at Hobby Lobby.  It is stamped on pretty oval mat that I cut  with a Spellbinders die.  And then I added another die cut mat to the sentiment.

And then to finish the card I added key and lock brads to the sentiment.  The inspiration for the card began with a sketch.

This cute sketch is for the new challenge at Die Cuttin Divas.  And that is where I will be entering this card.

Hello! and Happy Birthday!!

Tomorrow evening, a group of some of my dearest friends are getting together to celebrate the birthday of two of our friends.  We all have gone out to eat and celebrate our birthdays for many years.  Here is a card for one of my friends.  (Still working on the other card).

All of the papers used are from the Linen Door stack from The Paper Studio.  The scalloped circle mats were cut from Spellbinders dies.  I just love this telephone.  It is from the Cricut Wall Decor And More cartridge.  And the sentiment stamp in from Inkadinkadoo.  I used a Tim Holtz distressed around the edges of the blue and green damask mat.  Then it was inked with Antique Linen.

The inside of the card has a birthday greeting from Inkadinkadoo.

Thank you so much for dropping by today.  Please come back and visit often.

Snowflakes

Hello and Happy New Year!  I am back with the first CWC challenge from My Paper Crafting.  We have a very special challenge to begin the new year.

We are all still so saddened by the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School.  So we are making snowflake projects to help lift up those who survived this horrific event.  The teachers had ask that people make snowflakes and send them to decorate the school to help cheer bring some joy to the children who return to school after the holidays.  The response was overwhelming.  We are making project to send to the school board to let those who work there know that we continue to keep them in our thoughts and prayers.  Here is the address.

Newtown Board of Education
3 Primrose Street
Newtown CT 46074

I made a card to end to the school board using the Winter Lace and Joys of the Season cartridges.

I used Winter Lace to cut the large snowflakes and Joys of the Season to cut the smaller snowflake centers.  I used a cuttlebug folder to emboss the corners of the card and a little white ink was used on the embossing.

The sentiment is a stamp from Robins's Creative  Nest.  I just thought this would be so appropriate for the card.  the little gem snowflakes and snowman were purchased at Hobby Lobby.

Come and join us in our first challenge of the year and make My Paper Crafting a part of your creative world.  There is always something new and exciting to see there.  Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you will visit often.
