Red and Green

This week the challenge for Crafting With Cutters at My Paper Crafting is to make a project with RED and GREEN.  I have been wanting to make a shaker card lately and thought this would be the perfect time.

I made the snow globe using my Gypsy and the George and Basic Shapes cartridge.  I decided to emboss the base of the snow globe to look like wood grain.  The Christmas tree was cut from the Christmas Cheer cartridge.  I added a little white ink to the tree and a few Recollections gems for the decoration.  The gifts were cut from the Christmas Noel cartridge.

After constructing the snow globe, I added some clear glass beads for the snow.  It really made a nice snow globe.  The sentiment is from the Mistletoe stamp set at BugBites.  I used some ribbon from my stash to add a little personality to the crd.

Come join us this week at My Paper Crafting for a fun challenge with RED and Green.

Tis the Season

Tis the Season is the theme for the new challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  Make a project that shows what you and your family celebrate this time of year.

I just went straight to the Joy's of the Season cartridge to create the card.  I decided to make a shape card out of the Santa hat.  To decorate the hat I added a blue snowflake with some holly leaves, a little yellow button and three little red gems.  I added aqua glitter glue to the snowflake.

To the top of Santa's hat I added three little holly leaves and red gems for the holly berries.

And the white trim on Santa's hat was embossed with the divine swirls folder and then topped with glitter glue.
I just love the the sentiment I added to the inside of the card.  It is from a new stamp set called Mistletoe from BugBites.  I think it is just perfect for a Santa hat card.

Come join us at My Sheri Crafts and show us what you celebrate this time of year.
Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you will return real soon.

Gobble Til You Wobble

It is time for this week's Crafting With Cutters challenge at My Paper Crafting.  The theme this week is Gobble Till You Wobble.  Use a turkey somewhere on the project.  I chose one of my favorite turkeys from one of my favorite cartridges, Thanksgiving.  As I planned to create the card, I wanted to use papers that were not the typical colors of Thanksgiving. So I went through my stash and found all the papers that were left over from old projects. In fact, most of the papers are from a couple of years ago! What do you think about this look?

The scalloped circle is cut and embossed with a Spellbinders die.  It is inked with brown and copper.  The turkey is embellished with Recollections gems a log with aqua and gold glitter glue.

The leaves are cut and embossed with Spellbinders dies.  They are also inked in a little gold.  The sentiment is cut from the Thanksgiving cartridge.

The papers used to crete the card are from Core'Dinations, K&Co., Recollections and The Paper Studio.  I finished the card with a sheer gold ribbon and pretty bow.

Come join us this week in our challenge.  Just link your project to the challenge at  My Paper Crafting.  And I thank you for stopping by and wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Today, Ruby wore one of her new outfits to school today.  Of course the children just loved it.  They especially love when Ruby comes to school dressed in something new.

Isn't she just adorable just chillin' on the classroom rug!

I just love the bright colors she is wearing.  They are just so happy and make me smile.  I hoe you are smiling and having a greg day!

Oh, and please do not think I have left Jack and Magnolia out.  They too have new clothes.  You will see each of them modeling one day very soon.

I Feel The Love Christmas Card

This week the Cutting With Cutters challenge at My Paper Crafting is all about the I Feel The Love Project.  This month we are making Christmas cards for children at the Children's Hospital of Central California.

This card is made with paper from Core'Dinations, and the wreath paper is from my stash.  The snowman is a cut from Gypsy Wanderings. The mittens and wreath are cut from the Jolly Holidays cartridge.  And the blue background and snow were embossed with Cuttlebug and Sizzix folders.

The inside sentiment is cut from Holiday Cakes.

I do hope these cards will bring a smile to a sweet little one.  Please join us in this important challenge for the children.  Link up your project at the Crafing with Cutters Challenge HERE.  And then mail your card to Madison of the I Feel The Love Project, at the following address.

Thanksgiving at My Sheri Crafts

This week the challenge at My Sheri Crafts is to make a project showing thanks.  I made a card to share with you.

The papers I used are from Recollections with the exception of the printed paper which is from My Mind's Eye.  The beautiful leaves on the card were cut with Spellbinders dies from the Orchard Harvest Tags and Accents set.  Aren't all of these leaves beautiful!!  I just love the embossing on the leaves.

The tag is such a nice cut.  Under the buttons are tiny leaves that are cut out of the tag.  But you can't see them because I wanted to used these little buttons.  The sentiment is from Joy's Life stamp set, It's all Fall Puns.  I have used this stamps good bit this year and really love it.  I used several Color Box ink pads for the inking.

And I finished the card with crinkle ribbon, a little green raffia, and three little brass embellishments from Recollections.

Come join us this week at My Sheri Crafts  for a wonderful Thanksgiving challenge.

Three Cheers For You!!

The Cooking With Cricut challenge has a new name.  It is Crafting With Cutters.  So, the CWC not only has a new name, but a new challenge.  The challenge this week is to use your stash with the theme, ANYTHING GOES.  I made a card for my sweet daddy.  He will be 89 years old on November 10th, which happens to be the same day the United States Marine Corp will celebrate its 237th birthday.  Next to God and family, my daddy loves the US Marine Corp, and Alabama football.  My daddy served in the Marines during WWII.  Last year I made him a birthday card about the Marines and one celebrating Alabama football.  The Marine card is not complete yet this year.  But here is the BAMA football card.

Isn't this the happiest little elephant you've ever seen!  It is cut from the Birthday Bash cartridge.  I used a little gray ink on it.  The "A" was cut from the Stone Scrip cartridge.

The Houndstooth paper I printed off the internet.  For those of you who do not know, for many years The late and great Coach Bear Bryant always wore a houndstooth hat to the games.  In memory of the Bear, the houndstooth lives on.  If you ever attend an Alabama football game, you will see almost as much houndstooth as you would Crimson and White.  the border of black paper was done with a Martha Stewart punch.  The bow is made with a piece of Christmas glittered wire ribbon from my stash.  Oh, and all the paper came from my stash.

The Three Cheers sentiment is from Birthday Bash.  I know that it is a beer mug, but I think it also looks like a coffee mug.  My daddy always has a cup of coffee with him as he watches football.  So I thought this was a great addition to the card.

My daddy is going to love this card!  The inside of the card says ROLL TIDE!  And my personal message is
"You are just like the Alabama Football Team...
Number 1!!!"
Happy Birthday Daddy
and
ROLL TIDE ROLL!
