Fantabulous Cricut Challenge # 96 Valentiney Cards

This week"s challenge at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog is to make a 3x3 Valentine Card.  This is a great challenge for me because I make so many little Valentine cards being a teacher.  I make them not only for my students, but for past students as well.  I also like to give them to me fellow kindergarten teachers.  There are 10 kindergarten classes at my school.  And I also like to give Valentines to the art, music, media, computer, and PE teachers.  I am always looking for new ideas.

Here is my little card for the challenge.  I think it is just so sweet!

I used Martha Stewart paper for my card.  The cut is from the Cricut SOPHIE cartridge.  This is just one of my very favorite cartridges.  I used foam tape to attach it to the card.  I just wanted it to have dimension, especially with the card being so small.  I added pink and white twine to the card. There is a pink heart gen at the top of the bird swing.  And I added a few little pale pink gems to the little love birds to create the wings.  I finished the card with a sentiment from the K Andrew Designs  It's Valentines stamp set.

Please go to the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog and  check out all of the fantabulous cards created by our DT members.    And then link up your fabulous 3x3 Valentine's Card.  I am so glad you dropped by for a visit.  I hope you come back real soon.

Fantasy Land and a Simply Sunday Challenge

Hi Everyone!  This week the Simply Sunday challenge at Getting Cricky is all about FANTASY LAND.  What a fun challenge this is.  Sometimes it is a treat to just take a step out of reality and into the fantasy world.  I do this often.  HA HA! Let me explain.  I am a kindergarten teacher and read books to children several times a day.  We like to talk about the books in regard to fact and fiction .  And we often talk about could a fiction book we have read be a fantasy story or could it be true.  It is also fun when we act out the stories or use puppets to retell the stories.

Now, on to my card.  I actually had a hard time deciding what to do.  But when I came across this Cricut cut, I knew I had the beginning of an idea.

The card base is a cut from the WILD CARD cartridge.  The two mats are cut from GEORGE AND BASIC SHAPES.  And my little fantasy cut is from GIVE A HOOT.  Isn't it just an adorable cut!!  The papers are from K&Company and Glitz.  I added gems to the boat and the little owl and cat's faces.  The little heart says "adore".  And the sentiment, which I think is perfect for says "You float my boat"!  The sentiment is from the  K Andrew Designs stamp set, SPLASH-TASTIC SUMMER.
This stamp set is just so cute and so much fun!!  And it is also so versatile!  You will be amazed at all the year round projects you can use these stamps with.

Now, I invite you to visit  the Simply Sunday Challenge at Getting Cricky.  There you will see the  inspiration of the  fabulous design team.  Visit their blogs and leave them some love.  But most importantly, linkup your FANTASY LAND project!!  I can't wait to see what you create!  Have a great day and come back soon for a visit.

Cooking With Cricut Challenge #70 And a WINNER from our hop!!

Hello, and welcome to this weeks challenge at Cooking With Cricut.  The challenge this week is ANYTHING BUT A CARD.  MUST HAVE POLKA-DOTS, AND THE COLOR YELLOW.  I made a basket to hold some valentine goodies.  My inspiration for the basket came from my good friend Amy at Love to Crop.  I thought I would give it to an aide at school who takes care of my little dog Ruby.  (that's another story), and gives 100+% to helping in my classroom.

This was so fun to make and oh so easy.  I used papers from a K & Company Valentines stack.   It may be a little hard to see, but the paper that is in the folds in a tiny red and white polka dot.   The tag is cut And I added a few gems to the tag for a little bling.

If you have never made one of these baskets, I suggest you make one.  They are so easy and so much fun.  Remember to visit the Cooking With Cricut to see all the great projects.   But most of all, we want you to join in the challenge this week.  I am looking forward to seeing your creation.

And now for the winner of the blog candy from our Cooking With Cricut Blog Hop.

MELISSA of the blog
Created by Sunshine Honeybee.

Melissa,  I will be sending you an email to get your address so I can mail your blog candy to you.
Congratulations!!

Here is the card I made. This is a sliding pop-up card. I used K & Company paper to create the card.  The elephant and hearts were cut from the Cricut HOLIDAYS CAKE cartridge.  The sentiment BE MINE is a cut from the Cricut SIMPLY CHARMED cartridge.

This card is so much fun because when you slide the blue base down, the  card will pop up!!!
I wrote a message to the child who will receive this card.  It says, "Someone is thinking of you today.  Happy Valentines Day".  I decided to write the message by hand, so it would be more personal.

Here is a side view of the card.  It shows how the card pops up.  Splitcoast Stampers has an excellent tutorial on making the card.

My Sheri Crafts and NEW NEW NEW!

Welcome everyone!  I am so glad you dropped by for a visit.  It is tine for another great challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  Our new challenge is all about what is NEW NEW NEW.  That is to use something new that you have recently gotten.  Or using a new technique.  But what ever it is, make it something new and tell us all about it.

Now, about my project.  Monday, is the beginning of the new year.  That is Chinese New Year.  And this upcoming new year will be the YEAR OF THE DRAGON!  I teach kindergarten in a wonderful school and we have a huge celebration every year for Chinese New Year.  And the celebration includes a parade.  We have been working for days making things for our celebration.  Come back in a few days, and I will have photos posted of the big event.

Thinking of Chinese New Year was my inspiration for the card.

I used the Cricut PAGODA cartridge for the teapot, cup and fan.  I love this cartridge, but I do not use it enough.  I plan to keep it out and use it more.  All of the cuts on it are so pretty and can be used in many ways.  The paper I used is from a new K & Company stack I got after Christmas.  The gems are also new.  They are iridescent and are from Recollections.  The colors can change depending on how the light is shining on them.

The sentiment is from the Coffee and Tea for You and Me stamps set from K Andrew Designs.  These stamps also are new.  I got them right before Christmas.  I have used them on several occasions and Love them.  I used a gold metallic ink pad for inking around the mats and cuts on the card. And I used  black ink  for the sentiment  and inking its mat.

Please go and visit My Sheri Crafts challenge blog.  There you will see what the fabulous Design Team has created for this challenge.  Please visit each of their sites and leave them some lovely comments.  And then link up your project that is NEW NEW NEW!!

I Heart You

Here is a Valentines card I made for my sweet niece.  She is a freshman in high school this year and truly is SO SWEET.  She also loves those Starbucks lattes.  So I thought this would be perfect for her.
The paper for my card is from K & Company and DCWV.  The three coffee drinks are all cuts from the Cricut Lite cartridge, LOVE YOU A LATTE.  I added a little white doillie that I inked up with Tim Holtz antique linen.  I used the same ink pad on all of the Cricut cuts as well.  The little hearts are EK Success dimensional stickers.  And a pretty pink ribbon and bow was added to "dress it up".

The sentiment is from the COFFEE AND TEA FOR YOU AND ME stamp set.
And this is the inside of the card.
The Happy Valentines is from the new stamp set, ITS VALENTINES.  And the little latte is from the COFFEE AND TEA TAG ALONGS.

I am excited to tell you that with a $25.00 order of stamps, you will get this adorable Mini Heart Bonus Set for FREE!!!

Coffee and Tea For You And Me

Coffee and Tea Time Image Set

Coffee And Tea Tag Along Set

Today I have a project featuring the COFFEE AND TEA FOR YOU AND ME  stamp set.
But first I want to give you a little background information about my inspiration.  I have had a love for teapots, and teacups for many years.  I especially love those that were manufactured in Staffordshire England.  And I also have a great love for chintz.  When traveling to England, I have always come home with more teacups and teapots.  A couple of months ago I bought a K & Company  paper stack called Watercolor Bouquet.  It reminds me of these beautiful teacups.  So, now you know my inspiration.

The teapot is cut from the Cricut cartridge A CHILD'S YEAR.  And the teacups are cut from the cartridge FROM MY KITCHEN. I inked them with gold metallic ink and an antique linen ink pad from Tim Holtz.  I added a few gold beads to the teapot.

The label is a cut from the STORYBOOK cartridge.  The sentiment "Our Friendship is Tea---riffic" is from the K ANDREW  set Coffee and Tea for You and Me.  I just love the set of stamps.  They are just so fun and can be used in so many ways.

I added a pretty blue gem flourish from Recollections.  And then finished the card with a sweet pale yellow crinkled ribbon and bow from Kimberly at My Craft Spot.

I invite you to visit  Getting Cricky to see some amazing projects and outstanding tutorials.  There is also a great challenge going on that you will want to join. You can view and order all of Kristal's stamps at http://kandrewdesigns.com/.  Please come back tomorrow to see what I have to share with you.  You will not want to miss it.
