Sophistocated Cards

Today I am participating in a cartridge showcase at My Paper Crfting.  The cartridge being showcased is Teressa Collins's Sophistocated.  It is a lovey collection of images, fonts, borders, and phrases.

I have four cards to share with you today.  Each of these have cuts from the Sophistocatred cartridge.

This is a little A2 card I made using papers from my stash.  They are inked with a little tea dyed lace from Tim Holtz.  The frame was actually cut and embossed with a Spellbinders die.  I topped it with this wonderful floral branch from the Sophistocated cartridge.

This too is an A2 card.  The papers are from a K&Co stack.  I used a Martha Stewart heart border punch and topped it with this wonderful bird border cut from the Sophistocated cartridge.  I just think it is perfect with the bird paper.

This little A2  begins with an embossed pale pink mat.  The pretty lock is from Sophistocated and is  made with  music paper from The Paper Studio.  It is shadowed with ecru paper and inked in pale pink.  The white keyhole is embossed with Swiss Dots and inked in gold.  I used some antique laces for soft texture.  And then added a pale pink crinkle ribbon with a gemmed brad.  The little gems are from Recollections and the "Hello" sentiment is fom an Inkadinkadoo stamp set.

Here is an A9 card.  All of the cuts on the card are from the Sophistocated.  I really enjoyed cutting the border in the three colors and layering them.  The chandelier is topped with a sheer bow and inked in brown.  The word "Friends" is also cut from the Sophistocated cartridge.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Please come back and visit soon.

Love Your Pet Day

The new challenge this week at My Paper Crafting is all about Love Your Pet Day.  Well, if ianyone knows me, they know how much I love my sweet little fur babies.

Here they are.  first is my little rescue Maltese, Ruby, who is also a therapy dog.  In the middle is Mr. Personality himself, Jack, the cutest Malchi ever! And to the right is my beautiful, long haired Chihuahua, Magnolia, who is always by my side.

I have made a card for my sweet niece who will be sixteen years old Friday.  And the card is going to be signed by Ruby, Jack and Magnolia.  She will love it!

The little pups were cut from the Paper Pups cartridge.  The heart border was done with a Martha Stewart border punch.  The papers are from My Mind's Eye and K & Co.  The pretty ribbon is from JoAnns and I am not really sure where the stamp is from.  The inside of the card says "it's your birthday".

February I Feel The Love Project

This week the challenge at My Paper Crafting is to participate in the I Feel The Love Project.  This month the project is to send encourgement to Alana and her family.  They lost everything during the wrath of Sandy.  You can go to the I Feel The Love Project for all the details.

I began creating the card with the cute birdcage from the Serenade Solutions cartridge.  I used charcoal matallic paper and gold matallic for the birdcage.  It has a small jeweled brad as a hanger and a pretty sheer mauve bow.

The label, branches and cute little bird are all cuts from the Storybook cartridge.  I embossed the bird with the Cuttlebug folder Swiss Dots.  The bird, label and branches are inked in gold.  And I just could not help but put a few little pink gems on the branches.  There is a little tea dyed lace under the branches for some sweetlittle texture.

The sentiment is from K Andrew Designs.  I just thought it was an appropriate sentiment for Alana and her family after what they have been through.

May we all continue to hold all of the families who have been touched by tragedy and destruction in their lives, in our prayers.  Please join us this week in the I Feel The Love Project at My Paper Crafting.

Show a Little Love

It is time for a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts.  And the theme is Valentines and showing a little love.  I just love making Valentines.  They are so happy and fun to make.  I guess being a kindergarten teacher for 35+ yearss has something to do with it.  The valentine activites and party seem to be favorites of the children.  I always love watching the children opening their valentines.

I made this valentine card for the challenge. My background is in the fine arts and especially music.  I chose the Cricut cartridge Quarter Note to begin the card.

The music stand and musical notes are from the Quarter Note cartridge.  The two little birds are cut from the Give A Hoot cartridge.  The sentiment, I created on the computer.  And then cut it out with a Spellbinder die.  I added Ric Rac  to the card for some texture, and little heart gems for some bling.

Please join us at My Sheri Crafts and link up your Valentine project.  And do not forget to visit all the design team members and leave them some love.  Have a great week and a wonderful Valentine's Day.
